Jhonny Russell is an artist and musician based in Queensland, Australia. Having been the driving force behind many different musical groups over the last decade, he is now focused on his solo act: Jhonny Russell and the Mystery School. A one-man band which can best be described as a unique hybridisation of alternative indie guitar rock and electronic beats and synths.
Fiercely D.I.Y. and unapologetically lo-fi. From all instrumentation, to pressing the record button, to secret rituals, to designing the art, it’s one boy in his home.
Started in Jaunary of 2011, JR&TMS has already released a bunch of CDs, a Zine/sampler, self screen-printed shirts and merch, performed shows in Queensland, NSW & Victoria, as well as having articles & interviews in Time Off, Rave Magazine, Mx Mag, The Sun newspaper and on 4ZzZfm Radio.
